How to obtain a train ticket at Zurich airport

The Welcome Desks in Terminal A and B sell one or two day train tickets for the Zurich area.

Just below Terminal B of Zurich Airport there is a train station. At the counters (open 05:50 until 22:45) they sell tickets and change currencies. Opposite the counters, there are two kinds of ticket machines.

SBB ticket machines
The same kind you can find at most train stations throughout Switzerland.
  ZVV ticket machines
The same kind you can find at train stations, tram and bus stops in the region of Zurich.

Most of these ticket machines accept only credit cards, no coins and bills.

• Touch the screen and select your preferred language.

• Choose "Tickets from Zurich Airport".

• Select "Alle Stationen in der Stadt Zürich (Zone 10)".
Choose first or second class, single or return. Then you can request more than just one ticket if required.

• Finally you must select the direct route to Zurich and not the one via "Bülach".

This ticket machine accepts only coins and CHF 20 bills, no credit cards.

• By typing the code 8000 you get a single ticket to downtown Zurich.

• By pressing the button with the two arrows, you get a return ticket.

Return tickets for the price of two single tickets are valid for 24 hours. You can use them not only for your return journey but also for any number of tram and bus rides in Zurich city centre.
