20.12.06 - Domain pulse is the most significant event in the German-speaking world for current topics and trends associated with all aspects of domain names.

08.12.06 - SWITCH is launching its Junior Web Award, giving school classes the opportunity, for the first time, to put their own website on the internet. This SWITCH initiative is aimed at promoting know-how about the internet amongst school pupils and young people.

07.11.06 - What is the regional distribution of domain names in Switzerland? For the first time, a map has been drawn up showing this distribution. It sets out the percentage of the resident population who hold a domain name ending in .ch in an individual commune.

28.09.06 - The jury for the SWITCH Innovation Award has selected this year’s winning project from among 31 entries and has awarded four Honorary Mentions.

19.09.06 - During a practical training period at SWITCH, an informatics student from the ETH Zurich has developed a software solution for putting a lecture delivered at the university onto an iPod or similar Player. The service is available free-of-charge to students and lecturers at Swiss universities.

11.09.06 - SWITCH, the registry for domain names ending in .ch and .li is reducing the annual fee for domain names from CHF 35 to CHF 27 as of 1 November 2006.

31.08.06 - On 1 September 2006, SWITCH Internet Domains held its third customer event for Key Accounts and Internet Service Providers.

30.05.06 - Who is supposed to govern the internet? A symposium on the 'Internet Governance Forum' will be looking for the answers. The ETH Zurich and SWITCH are organising a joint, half-day symposium on the Internet Governance Forum, IGF, on 7 July 2006.

The submission period for entries to the SWITCH Innovation Award 2006 runs until 30 June 2006.

06.02.06 - The biggest specialist conference on the internet in the German-speaking world drew to a close in Berlin last Friday. The subjects covered included the political consequences of the World Information Summit in Tunis and new Top-Level Domains.

13.01.06 - SWITCH, the registry for domain names ending in .ch and .li, has discontinued the registration fee of CHF 40 from 1 March 2006. The annual fee of CHF 35 remains unchanged.
