Swiss Internet addresses are some of the most secure in the world. This has been confirmed by a new study conducted by security services provider McAfee.
Swiss Internet addresses ending in .ch are some of the most secure in the world, together with those in countries like Japan, Ireland and Luxembourg.
The risk of being infected by a computer virus when surfing is a daunting 69.7 percent when visiting a website from Cameroon (.cm). In Switzerland, by contrast, it is only 0.3 percent. Of all the websites tested worldwide, 5.8 percent are rated as insecure.
The SWITCH Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) observes and analyses happenings in the world of hackers, viruses and worms on a permanent basis.
"Our team of experts works together closely with the Confederation and with experts all over the world. Protecting Swiss Internet addresses against abuse is important for us", says Dr. Serge Droz, Head of the Security Division at SWITCH. And in the future too, SWITCH will be doing everything to make the Internet in Switzerland more secure.
