The public's favourites for the SWITCH Junior Web Award 2010

The most popular pupils' websites have been determined: in the "SWITCH Junior Web Award", more than 37,000 votes have now been cast for the 153 websites that were submitted for the national website competition for school classes.
In April 2010, the public were able to cast their votes in the national website competition for school classes. All in all, more than 25,000 votes were cast for the most popular ten projects on http://www.JuniorWebAward.ch.
The result of this vote accounts for one third of the final assessment. The other two thirds are made up by the opinion of the jury, which is meeting at the start of May. The five websites that are receiving awards this year, in the age groups of primary school and secondary levels I and II, will be announced during the prize-giving ceremony to be held at Zurich Central Station (Hauptbahnhof Zürich) on 25 May.

There are not only attractive prizes for the winning classes. All the participants in a winning school class receive an individual prize:
1st prize offered by Microsoft: Microsoft Windows 7
2nd prize offered by EPSON: print, copy and scan all-in-one with an Epson multifunctional device
3rd prize offered by Lenovo: Lenovo Notebook Backpack
4th prize offered by SWITCH: iTunes gift card worth CHF 30.-
5th prize offered by SWITCH: iTunes gift card worth CHF 30.-
Public Prize for the project that comes first when the public cast their votes, offered by SSAB and Swiss television: a look behind the scenes on a guided tour through the “Schweizer Fernsehen” television studios.
Jury Prize for the best project in the jury’s opinion, offered by SWITCH: an iPod Shuffle.
Usability Prize for the most user-friendly website, selected and offered by Swisscom: a digital camera.
Programming Prize for the best-programmed site, selected and offered by Google: an exciting day at Google in Zurich.
