The camera defies the icy cold, storms and snow flurries. And, in return, it rewards its visitors with fascinating mountain pictures by day and by night – a radiant sunrise from the icy heights, or an autumn evening in golden hues. The Jungfraujoch camera conveys a portion of this world-famous mountain region, at an altitude of more than 3500 metres, directly onto your screen at home.
Video sequences, panorama pictures and quick-motion videos
The SWITCH webcam on the Jungfraujoch offers an exciting selection of downloads from these freezing heights. Once an hour, the camera swivels over the mountain peaks, starting on the left-hand side of the picture with the Fiescher Gabelhorn, and then going past Konkordiaplatz and the Jungfraufirn and round to the summit of the Jungfrau. At night, when the weather is good, it is even possible to see the lights from a number of villages in the Bernese Oberland on these video sequences. In addition, a 180-degree panorama picture is recorded every hour, on which even the smallest of details can be made out.
