Collected Usage Scenarios for a national Learning Object Repository

Theses usage scenarios have been developed and discussed during the Workshop “National Learning Object Repository” in the context of the SVC-Days 2007 in October 2007, Bern.

The question was:

Think of a realistic situation where you'd use a LOR:

• Who is involved? you / your peers / your project / your institution ...?
• What’s the role of the involved person(s)? Are they sharing, providing contents? Are they re-using contents?
• What kind of content is involved?
• Usage? Wow does the environment look like? What is the user inteface?
• Challenge? What is particularly challenging in the scenario?

Podcasting Verzeichnis

Davon ausgehend, dass in Zukunft 1) zunehmend Vorlesungen/Veranstaltungen als Streamings/Podcastings aufgezeichnet werden, und 2) der Aufwand für ein solches Unterfangen gross ist:

• kann man davon ausgehen dass Lehrkräfte daran interessiert sind, die Podcasts auch auf einer öffentlichen Plattform zu publizieren, um damit
• einen Einblick in die aktuelle Lehre zu geben

Sammlung von Unterrichtsmaterialien

Kontext: Kursleiter zur Überarbeitung der eigenen Kursmaterialien (Hyperlinks, Hintergrundmaterial, ...)

Content: Hyperlinks z.B. zum Thema Gsellschaftsrecht

• neue Bundesgerichtsentscheide
• Muster von Gerischtsentscheiden
• Self-assesments

Granulierung: Unterrichtseinheiten zu Gesellchaftsformen

Challenge: wichtige Metadaten für Self-assesments: Schwierigkeitsgrad, Level der Institution (FH, Uni, Weiterbildung, ...)

Scenario

Identifying already existing (similar) courses or content - possibly by using semantic clustering techiques (-> project EduLaP):

• establish contact for possible collaboration
• source for development
• • enhance existing content
  • similar content used in different context

Teachers teaching at different institutions have a common location for their courses

Teachers establish MyPortfolio or best-of my portfolio.

Teachers need to expose their teaching activities to quest users (i.e. fellow professor form foreign country).
