Problem Description:Today at 05:13, the router swiCAW2 in Cadenazzo went down.
Affected:From 2016-03-18 05:13 until 2016-03-21 11:18
Impact: Total loss of connectivity
The cable has been successfully replaced this morning. Both uplinks are up an running again. All services are restored. Closing ticket.
Unfortunately, the second fiber pair didn't work as expected. The services failed again at 14:31. The technicians from the fiber provider actually found a heavily bent part of the fiber just near the building entry point. As they need to replace the complete cable between WSL and the first splice point, they need some time to prepare this work. This means that they can only start fixing this cable on Monday, 21 March 2016 at 08:00.
Our fiber provider located a fiber break between SBB Cadenazzo and WSL. They moved the link to another fiber pair. All services are restored again. Our technician will nevertheless go on-site in order to find the root cause of the fiber break together with the fiber provider. We leave this ticket open in the meantime.
Our technician is on his way to Cadenazzo. He'll arrive around 14:30. We also contacted our local fiber provider who will be able to troubleshoot the local loop fiber at around 13:00.
The problem could not be resolved from remote. We therefore prepare to send a technician on-site in order to troubleshoot this issue. At the moment, there are two possible causes: a fiber break between SBB Cadenazzo and WSL, or a defect of the router at WSL Cadenazzo.
