|Ticket Description:||Power supply 2 on swiFR2 failed|
Problem Description:Power supply 2 on swiFR2 went down at 22:48 on Sunday Sep 2, 2007.
The router continues to work without redundant power.
Investigations in our network reveal that, oddly enough, this "AC low" reading seems to be the normal behaviour of the Cisco 7603/6503-E platforms. We will persue this with Cisco tech support. Ticket closed.
UniFR reports the successful exchange of the PEM module by a Sunrise technician. The router now runs again in redundant power mode. Surprisingly, the PEM modules of both power supplies report an "AC low" condition, corresponding to 100..120V input voltage.
It is assumed that the PEM module is at fault. An exchange is arranged for Tuesday morning.
The replacement has arrived and was installed. Unfortunately, it does not work either.
A replacement for the defective power supply has been ordered.
UniFR reports that their electrical installation has been repaired. Unfortunately, the router's power supply is damaged and had to be rmoved. The router continues to work normally without redundant power.
UniFR reports that the problem is not related to the rack's fuse or the router's power supply. Specialists for electrical installations have been alerted to fix the power distribution in that server room.
UniFR contacted by email to investigate
