Ticket Description: | Emergency reset of ROADM at CERN |
Problem Description:
After a planned software upgrade a ROADM at CERN is currently not reachable anymore.We need to reset the module tomorrow morning with the risk that the module will stop working.
Please note there is also the possibility of a spontaneous reset before that - with the same risk - though.
The only network service which would be affected is the optical link to Equinix Zürich used by CERN.
The SWITCH backbone and other network services of SWITCH are not affected. All traffic is automatically rerouted to redundant paths.
We will be prepared to exchange the module tomorrow morning.

The reset was issued as planned.
The affected services were down for approx. 2minutes and 43seconds.
The ROADM recovered and everything looks like it is working properly.
We will monitor the network element closer for the next few minutes/hours and close the ticket accordingly.
