Federal Funding for AAA/SWITCH
AAA/SWITCH is part of the measures in the frame of the federal program Education, Research and Innovation for 2008 - 2011, decided by the Federal Assembly in 2007.
The project has been approved, is financed and supported by
- Swiss University Conference SUK as project in category B (funding for Cantonal Universities),
- Federal Office for Professional Education and Technology OPET (funding for Universities of Applied Sciences) and
- ETH Board (funding for institutions of the ETH domain).
The Rectors Conference of Swiss Universities CRUS and the Rectors conference of the Swiss Universities of Applied Sciences KFH do foster the project evaluation process.
Within the framework of AAA/SWITCH, universities receive federal subsidies for sub-projects in the four domains AAA, Grid middleware, e-Learning and support for virtual organizations.
A prolongation in 2012 has been approved, with additional funding in 2012 for Cantonal Universities and ETH institutions.
