|Ticket Description:||Loss of regional links in the area of Martigny|
Problem Description:At 07:27 on March 15, the two links Martigny - Visp and Martigny - Bluche went down. They share a single fiber between Martigny and Sierre. All other services on the involved routers as well as all connections on the second fiber of this pair continue to run smoothly.
No indication about the nature of the problem is available at this moment.
Affected:From 2014-03-15 07:27 until 2014-03-18 15:33
Impact: no more redundancy
Cablex managed to move our link to another fiber within our cable. All links came up again. We close this ticket for now. But please note that we need to replace about 374 m of our cable in Bluche in the near future. We are going to plan this maintenance work separately.
Cablex reported severe damages to the cable on multiple locations between Splice C and Rocailles. They try to find a working fiber for the broken link. And we need to plan when and how to replace the cable between Splice C and Rocailles.
LRG reported that they spotted the fiber cut. It seems that the funicular caused an outer damage to the fiber. Cablex will inspect the problem shortly. Further information will follow.
Cablex informed us that a technician will go to Bluche this morning in order to locate and fix the problem.
OTDR measurements from Bluche showed that there is a fiber cut in Bluche (600 meters from the main building). We are in contact with a repair company to have this fiber fixed as soon as possible. Unfortunately, it's not possible to have it fixed today.
LRG reported that there is no known problem in Bluche. As the customers affected are still online but without redundancy, we decided to postpone the debug work onsite to Monday morning. Please report any problems affecting the remaining link as soon as possible. In such a case, we would travel to the Valais immediately.
SBB NMC reports no known problems in that area. Nobody from RERO, the location of our router in Martigny, could be contacted so far.
