Video conferencing with Vidyo
SWITCHvideoconf is based on the videoconferencing software Vidyo installed on the infrastructure owned and operated by CERN. Vidyo allows users to make point-to-point calls or multipoint videoconference meetings from their desktop machines, tablets and smartphones, H323/SIP equipped meeting rooms and from traditional phone lines.
Individual meeting room
Each registered user is provided with an individual permanent virtual room that is accessible via dedicated video conferencing end devices as well as via desktops and regular telephones. Each user can invite people to remote meetings in their personal virtual room (registered users or guests).
SWITCHvideoconf comes in a service bundle with SWITCHinteract (no additional costs). However, organisations need to subscribe to SWITCHvideoconf in order to use it. From then on, each member of the institution that has subscribed to SWITCHvideoconf, can start to use the video conferencing service with their SWITCHaai login.
