Our SWITCHlan education and research network provides the high-quality communication infrastructure that is required for meaningful cooperation and exchange across national borders. Together with our colleagues in Europe, America and a large number of other nations all over the globe, we ensure that the university and research world is optimally connected.
Three efficient routes
When it comes to providing a full Internet connection at the different locations, SWITCH is able to rely on internationally experienced partners. We follow three routes here:
1. GÉANT, European research network: promotes and provides worldwide access to the research and education community
2. Connections to partner networks via peering at CIXP, Equinix e SwissIX (Basel and Zurich) as well as via the biggest European Exchange Point in Amsterdam, AMS-IX.
3. Global transit traffic via Global Crossing (Geneva), Swisscom (Geneva and Zurich) and Telia (Zurich).
