Problem Description:
Excessive ARP (Address Resolution Protocol) traffic from a station at CERN Internet eXchange Protocol (CIXP) brought our router swiCE2.switch.ch to its knees.Actions:

All peerings up again, including the one with the peer that had sent the ARP storm. Apparently it was fixed.

CERN reports that a misbehaving station at another CIXP site (downtown Geneva) was disconnected.

Shut down the Gigabit Ethernet interface towards CIXP in order to protect CPU resources on our router swiCE2.switch.ch.
