Data Lifecycle Management
The use of information technology has become a self-evident part of a researcher's life. Numerous research fields are even quite IT intensive and their research activities produce large quantities of scientific data. This poses new questions such: Which data to keep? For how long? How to find it again? Who has access to it? These are questions that are adressed under the topic "Data Lifecycle Management" (DLCM).
SWITCH will evaluate specific services in the domain of DLCM by means of the innovation process. DLCM is also taken up as a field of activity in the current CRUS-program for "access, processing and storage of scientific informvation" of the funding period 2013-2016. SWITCH will bring in its competencies in that program to develop relevant solutions with the community.
DLCM has been the main topic of the SWITCH journal in March 2013.
