After the installation
Once you are done with the installation you have a folder on your filesystem which is accessible via file-explorer/Finder or the cloud symbol (right-click
and choose 'ownCloud' below Managed Folders). Everything you put into that folder will be synchronized to the ownCloud server. And from there back to every client where you have installed ownCloud. To test this, put a file into that folder and open a Web-Browser. Go to https://owncloud.switch.ch and log-in. There you have a folder called 'clientsync' where you should find the file you have put into the folder before.
That's the basics about synchronisation. For more information check the FAQ or the official ownCloud manual.
