A bird's-eye view of Zurich
The SWITCH webcam is located 506.5 metres above sea level or, to be more precise, on the roof of the CHN block at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich (ETH). Since it was installed in July 2007, it has focused on what has been happening in the city centre every day, recording this on video streams and in impressive pictures. Each day and night of the year can be assessed in quick motion and the course of the clouds observed.
Large-format snapshot
Not only amateur meteorologists will derive true pleasure from our online photo archive: the SWITCH webcam automatically generates a 180-degree panorama picture every hour. This detailed photograph is stored in the panorama archive with the date and time of day. It is then immediately available for downloading – for use as a desktop background, for example.
