Problem Description:Our routers in Lausanne at EPFL and UniL are not reachable.
All routers at other sites in Lausanne - which are connected to these routers - are affected as well
The reason and all implications are not known yet.
Affected:From 2014-03-11 19:45 until 2014-03-11 21:35
Impact: Total loss of connectivity
Service: network access
Sites: CHUV, EHL, EPFL, IMD, UNIL
The outage was caused by a storm of CDP packets that caused the CPU load of the router to raise to 100%. This resulted in a total loss of connectivity for all customers connected to these two routers because of flapping routing protocols. We sincerely have to apologize for this outage. We did send you detailed information by mail directly. We do close this ticket now as the problem covered is resolved.
The problem could be found.
Everything seems to be back to normal.
