Ticket Description: Backup Link to UNIGE/HUG flapping

Problem Description:

The backup access link between University of Geneva and our POP at CERN is flapping.
This leads to flaps in BGP as well. We have thus shut down the BGP sessions until there is a steady link again.
We're currently investigating the cause for the link flaps.

The new router at Uni Mail is installed and the link to CERN operational. Full redundancy restored.

We have decided to replace the optical transport with a new 10G router at Uni Mail that will be installed tomorrow.

Unfortunately there were new errors showing up on the optical transport. The backup BGP sessions have thus proactively been shut down again.

BGP sessions re-activated.
We will monitor the link/bgp sessions for the next few hours to see if this issue is now permanently fixed.

Optical transport system between CERN and UNGE rebooted.
This seemed to have eliminated the link flaps.
