|Ticket Description:||Scheduled brief interruptions of some backbone links|
|Scheduled Starttime:||2020-04-29 10:00:00||Scheduled Endtime:||2020-04-29 12:00:00|
Problem Description:We have recently become aware of a bandwidth limitation inside of a certain type of backbone router, which prevents some 100Gb/s links from being used at their full capacity. In order to remediate this situation, we will move some links on these routers to other interfaces in order to better distribute the load across the various resources.
Today we will perform this operation on our backbone router swiEL1, at EPFL (Lausanne). We will rehome the backbone connections to Lugano and Geneva, which will be briefly interrupted one after the other. During these interventions, traffic will be rerouted along alternate paths with sufficient capacity.
Between 10:21 and 10:29, all links were moved as planned.
All times are in local Swiss time CET / CEST.
