How secure is digital Switzerland?

This year's global DNS hijacking campaigns made it clear how sensitive the Internet infrastructure is. In Switzerland, too, cyber attacks on companies, critical infrastructures and individuals are constantly on the increase. And yet Switzerland is one of the worst countries in Europe when it comes to adapting Internet security standards. For example, only 5% of domain names in Switzerland are DNSSEC-signed, compared to the Netherlands with 54%. This is astonishing, as the technical implementation has become fairly straightforward. 

How do we achieve adequate safety standards in Switzerland? And what are the decisive factors for successful implementation?

Two short presentations prepared the ground for the panel discussion:
Michael Hausding, Competence Lead DNS & Domain Abuse, SWITCH, spoke about the security standards in Switzerland, why the implementation is so important and where the major hurdles lie. 

Michiel Henneke, Senior Marketeer, SIDN (Stichting Internet Domeinregistratie Nederland) reported on the successful introduction of DNSSEC in the Netherlands with some concrete examples:
