2016 was an important year for SWITCH. The foundation gained a new Chairman, updated its regulations, celebrated an anniversary and was delighted to win the Federal Office of Communications tender to continue operating the registry. You can find the key events in our photo listicle.

SWITCH Managing Director Andreas Dudler gives his views on 2016 in a video message. Largely unnoticed from the outside, SWITCH was busy updating its strategy for 2020 this year. The Management Board named its strategic fields of business: network, security, identity and trust, infrastructure and data services, procurement and the registry. So what lies ahead in 2017? Implementing the strategy, of course. Among other things, this will involve targeted selling and development of SWITCH services as well as enlarging the client base. “We certainly won’t be running out of things to do,” says Dudler. SWITCH can look forward with confidence to next year, when it will be celebrating 30 years of success together with its community.
